About PanApta
An evidence-graded selection-to-function aptamer resource
PanApta connects reported nucleic-acid aptamers, exact molecular constructs, canonical targets, assays, selection campaigns, structures, functions and source provenance. PanSELEX is its selection-history layer; it is not a substitute name for the full resource.
What counts as an aptamer
- Validated aptamer
- A reported construct with captured direct binding, specificity or functional assay evidence meeting the release rules.
- Reported aptamer
- A primary source explicitly calls the construct an aptamer, but the captured validation evidence is incomplete.
What does not count
- Selection-pool candidate
- A molecule observed or enriched in a selection campaign. Enrichment alone does not validate binding.
- Predicted molecule or annotation
- A computational output. Predictions are versioned evidence records and never promote a candidate to an aptamer.
Scope boundaries
PanApta covers DNA, RNA, L-nucleic-acid and explicitly represented XNA aptamers, including natural riboswitch aptamer domains, separable aptazyme aptamer modules and fluorogenic aptamers. Generic ribozymes, peptide aptamers and generated binders without primary-source aptamer status are outside the core aptamer count.
New evidence layer: 372 source fields across 11 primary publications
Source fields, not independent assays or validated aptamers.
